My name is Cindra Hatcher and I am running for County Committeewoman in Ward 1 District 9. I have decided to seek this office because I realize our wonderful town has come to a critical crossroad. We have grown considerably these past years, and we have now reached a point where it is time for us to decide as a community what we want to become, where we want to go, and how we want to get there.
Never has it been more important to elect to a County Committeewoman who can represent your voice; someone who will act only in the best interest of the town and its bright future. I believe I am capable of meeting that challenge and I look forward to the work ahead.
I have lived in Piscataway since 1996. I grew up in a small town in Montana, and making Piscataway my home has been a wonderful change. I am a volunteer for the Piscataway Recreation Wrestling Program, and announcer of the Piscataway Pop Warner Football program. I am an avid sports fan and enjoy all the Piscataway sports programs. You can usually catch me at something that is going on in our town. I have been a member of numerous PTA’s and other school committees, I spent a short time as a substitute teacher, and I love our school district and being a part of such an amazing school district. I am married to my high school sweetheart and together we are raising our two children - one who is a graduate and the other a student of Piscataway High School.
I would like to be your voice on the County Committee and I would like to count on your voice and your vote on Tuesday June 6th, 2017 to help me get there. I thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you, and I look forward to speaking with you and hearing what you think about our town and its future.
I am running in hopes of being a part of bringing the Democratic Party back as the party of the working class. We need to support a $15 minimum wage, strengthen collective bargaining, and support paid sick and paid family leave.
Healthcare is a right for all people. We need to go single payer. Nobody should have to choose between their health and their wallets.
I am a lifelong resident of Piscataway. I went to Piscataway public schools and graduated from Rutgers University.
